What is the Move Better Series?

The MB Series builds fitness, capacity, and resilience across 5 months of sequential workouts. We have integrated the most current data on living long, healthy lives into an attainable workout program.  We start with basics to build form and stability and then progress to weight lifting moves that translate to our work and play.  Our programming is not a "press play and go" format, but rather a structured workout designed to allow you dial up or down based on your needs.  Click here for a quick demo of what the programming looks like with in the app.


I don't know how to lift and I don't want to get hurt.  Is this for me?

Many of us know that strength training is key for our health and longevity but stepping up to a barbell is intimidating.  The MB Series is designed by PTs who understand injury prevention and have set you up for success.  Although this is a virtual platform, we are only a chat or email away!  We also request video uploads of you performing a movement so we can offer coaching cues and tips to help you nail down your form.  


How does it work?  

Our tailored workouts are delivered via an app that includes coaches instructions, video demonstrations, and a live chat room.  You'll be logging in remotely when you want, working out at home or the gym, and participating in an online community.  Working out with your cohort fosters accountability, fist bumps, and helps you set and attain goals together!

  • Within the TrainHeroic app, you'll find written instructions from the coaches as well as short instructional videos that correspond to the day's workout.   
  • All moves are completely adjustable (scalable), so chose the one that meets your abilities.
  • Post your scores and track your weights to allow for a safe and efficient progression.
  • Based on your comments we will offer 1:1 solutions.

Who has the time and money?

We built our programming to have big impacts on your wellness with minimal impacts on your pocketbook.  You don't need a huge space, there are minimal equipment requirements (click to see a list) and we keep our workouts short and sweet (ish).  Expect 30-45 min workouts 3 times per week with an additional anaerobic cardio day and optional "floater" days when you don't have access to equipment.   For Month 1, plan on a rowing machine or a fan bike (has arms that move) unless you are VERY comfortable with running.

What is the GPP?

GPP (General Physical Preparedness) is an ongoing programming calendar that you can jump into IF you are not looking for any coaching on form.  GPP is 5 days per week including an optional anaerobic cardio day.  The GPP is equivalent to a mid level CrossFit program but geared towards the moves that matter most to manual laborers and mountain athletes.
